Xzeniyeju Chukwuezi, 18, of Roxbury, was arrested today on charges he gunned down Soheil Turner on May 7, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis and Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley said.
Turner, 15, was found with two gunshot wounds at 305 Dudley St. around 7:22 a.m. and was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center.
"There is no good explanation or excuse for Soheil Turner's death, but we hope that today's arrest - while only the beginning of a process to hold his killer accountable - brings at least some small measure of comfort to Soheil's family and friends," Conley said.
The Herald reports Chukwuezi is a member of the Dudley Street Posse gang and was arrested at McKinley Preparatory High School. In 2002, he played a soldier in a Strand Theatre performance of "Urban Nutcracker."

James Parker, 48, had bail set at $100,000, but even if he could raise the money, he isn't going anywhere because a Chelsea District Court judge revoked his bail on an unrelated charge.
Prosecutors say Parker entered the club around noon wearing a mask and holding what appeared to be an automatic weapon. He ordered the bartender to give him all the money in the joint - and the keys to the club's poker machines. According to a statement:
At about this time, a 71-year-old male entered the bar and, realizing that there was a robbery in progress, asked everyone to remain calm and told the bartender to get Parker a drink. The defendant allegedly demanded a Skyy Vodka, but when the bartender told him that she did not have that brand of vodka, he took a bottle of Absolut Vodka and a bottle of Dewars Scotch. Parker is also said to have ordered the bartender to get the 71-year-old the drink of his choice.
But Parker's mood allegedly soured when police arrived - after the bartender managed to secretly call them on a cell phone. He is charged with putting his Samaritan in a headlock and walking outside with the gun pointed at his head. One officer managed to grab the gun - at which point police realized it was not real, the DA's office says.
Parker was then charged with four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault on a person over age 60, one count of kidnapping, one count of armed and masked robbery and one count of resisting arrest.

Santos
A trio of martial-arts pros from Brazil face charges they beat one man into a coma and broke another man's jaw during a fight outside a Chelsea restaurant early this morning.
Bruno DaCosta, 23, of Everett, Iury Debs, 25, of Lynn, and Diego Santos, 23, of Everett, were all ordered to surrender their passports at their arraignment today in Chelsea District Court, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office says. Bail was set at $2,500 each.
All three are instructors at the Brazilian Martial Arts Center in Somerville, which promises "ultimate training for ultimate fighters."
Prosecutors charge the three put their training to bad use at a fight outside the McDonald's on Revere Beach Parkway, which they say followed a verbal altercation shortly before at Club Lido in Revere.
Witnesses told investigators that Santos struck one of the victims, a 22-year-old Revere man, in the face with no provocation, knocking him to the ground. When another man, also a Revere resident, approached the assailants, Debs allegedly punched him in the back of the head and knocked him to the ground. All three assailants kicked and slapped the two victims as they lay on the ground.
Friends of the first victim rushed him to Whidden Memorial Hospital, where doctors ordered him transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for surgery. He was operated upon and placed in an intensive care unit with severe head trauma and possible brain damage.

Woman mugged at gunpoint on her front steps in Charlestown
from Boston Crime Universal Hub by adamg
A correspondent passes along this report from a friend of his who lives near the Monument in Charlestown:
Yesterday I was robbed at gunpoint at 10:20 am on my front steps in Charlestown. I am okay (just badly shaken up) and fortunate that the predator did not force his way into my home since I had my keys in my door lock.
Please keep your guard up at all times of the day and in all neighborhoods. No neighborhood or time of day is immune from increased crime. One of my neighbors informed me that she was pick-pocketed by a pro a few days ago on Federal Street. She lost her wallet and blackberry. Within 20 minutes, there were significant charges on her credit cards.

Boston Police report finding an 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound around 11:40 this morning at 71 Homestead St. in Dorchester. EMTs at the scene were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead where he lay.
We await the front-page coverage and news bulletins on local TV stations as police pursue his killer.
Oh, who are we kidding? Some poor kid is dead in the ghetto, and this is the last we'll hear about him.
The victims were then forced to remove their backpacks and empty the contents on the ground. The suspects then picked up the victim's belongings and fled towards Warren Street.
Police report one of the alleged assailants didn't go very far: When officers found a group of four men standing at Warren and Quincy streets, they noticed one of them was wearing the same sort of backpack the two victims had reported stolen. They pat frisked him and found cell phones that the victims identified as theirs.
James Exantus, 18, was then arrested on charges of armed robbery, receiving stolen property and larceny from a person.

DA: Girl, 8, thwarts man who tried to kidnap her
from Boston Crime Universal Hub by adamg
A Chelsea man is behind bars today, charged with trying to kidnap the girl as she got on the bus at St. Rose Elementary School on Feb. 2.
Leonel Zelaya, also known as Gerado Zelaya, 43, of Charlestown, allegedly tried to pull the girl away as she was boarding a bus for home around 2:45 p.m, claiming he was her brother, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. Instead, the girl began screaming: "No, no! No, I don’t know him!" Zelaya fled and a teacher called police, who found him at Broadway and Cary Street, the DA's office says.
Zelaya pleaded innocent at his arraignment in Chelsea District Court on charges of attempted kidnapping and assault and battery. Bail was set at $10,000, but even if he could raise that, he'd remain in jail because the judge revoked his bail on an earlier, unrelated charge, the DA's office says. DA Dan Conley said in a statement:
This little girl did exactly the right thing. She resisted, she spoke up, and she stayed with the adult she knew. For all our concern about internet predators in this modern age, what we used to call 'stranger danger' is still a very real concern for anyone who has children.

Man with knife stabs one, fails in effort to commit suicide by cop
from Boston Crime Universal Hub by adamg
Boston Police report a Dorchester man went on a rampage with a knife Friday night after he called a friend out getting some food and the friend hung up on him.
Police say that when officers arrived at 1544 Dorchester Ave. around 11:50 p.m., they were met by a woman screaming hysterically and yelling: "Hurry and get upstairs before he kills them!"
Officers immediately opened the front door and observed two men near the second floor landing wrestling with each other, with one armed with a knife apparently stabbing the other male.
The officers ordered the stabber to drop his knife, but he began yelling "Kill me! Just kill me!" Instead, the officers rushed him to try to get him and his knife away from the victim - but the guy leaped up, ran up to the third floor and barricaded himself inside a room - woth a woman and her three kids.
At that time, officers learned that there were three children inside the house with the suspect as he yelled to officers, "Stay out or I'll kill the kids!" Officers continued to speak to the suspect and after a while were able to convince the suspect to release two of the children in the apartment. After the two children were released, the suspect continued to threaten to harm the third child if officers attempted to go in the apartment. Officers continued to talk to the suspect and after some time, he agreed that he would let the third child go if he was allowed to speak to his mother. The suspect’s mother responded to his location and after a lengthy discussion convinced him to release the third child. Shortly thereafter, the suspect surrendered and was placed under arrest.
Lazelle L. Williams, 22, of Boston was charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (knife), kidnapping, threats, assault by means of a dangerous weapon (knife), home invasion and assault with intent to murder.
Police say the nightmare began while Williams was visiting the house. When the man they found stabbed went out for some food, Williams called him and, when, they say, he got hung up on, he pulled a knife on the woman and vowed someone was going to die.

Instead, the officers rushed him to try to get him and his knife away from the victim - but the guy leaped up, ran up to the third floor and barricaded himself inside a room - woth a woman and her three kids.

Winner of fatal fight pleads guilty to manslaughter
from Boston Crime Universal Hub by adamg
Victor Rosario, who managed to beat a man to death despite being shot in the chest himself, today pleaded guilty to the April 23, 2007 death of Frank Dillon on Marion Street in East Boston, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office announced.
Rosario was sentenced to eight to ten at MCI Cedar Junction.
According to the DA's office:
Had the case proceeded to trial, Assistant District Attorney David Fredette would have introduced evidence and testimony to prove that Dillon, Rosario, and an unidentified third party became engaged in a violent, armed altercation at 44 Marion St. In the course of that altercation, Rosario sustained a gunshot wound to his chest.
Boston Police who responded to Marion Street found Dillon on the sidewalk and Rosario on top of a car, with both men suffering from serious injuries. A broken meat cleaver, a handgun, and several beer bottles were recovered from the area; a baseball bat stained with Dillon's blood was recovered from Rosario's apartment.
Dillon died several days later from his injuries.
